Museum Fun

Hi everyone,
Last term we went to the museum and learned about navigation, the waka haurua, stars, and the tools the Maori used to use when building things.

Navigation

We learned about all the different navigators like Captain Cook/Tupia, Maui, Kupe, and Pawa, and Kiwa.
These are all famous navigators. Captain Cook and Tupaia came to NZ a long long time ago and before they came Captain Cook went to the pacific islands and met Tupia who wanted to come with them on the endeavor to NZ Captain Cook said yes. When they got to NZ Tupia learned that his language is close to Maori so they could understand each other sadly on the gaerny back home to England Tupia sadly died.
Maui, Kupe and pawa, and kiwi are all Maori legends and are part of their history.

Moari Tools

Some Maori tools are the Toki a carving tool, the Tuwiri a tool that has a sharp stone a the end and can make holes in wood, and some materials that they used are whalebones, flax, rocks, and native woods. They would use these tools and materials to make waka and huts.

BEST SCORE YET!

Hi everyone,
Today we did our weekly math grid and I got my BEST SCORE YET 73/100. Well, we didn't have the 12 times table to do {Which I find a bit hard} but we had the 20s. I learned that there is a trick to the 20s and I used it and it made it way easier. I enjoyed being proud of my self when I found out that I got 73. My last highest score was 69/100 so I got 4 more than last time in 6:00 minutes. I am wondering when I am going to get 100/100. Bye👋

How Good am at Math Term 3

 Hi everyone,
Today we did our first math grid of the term and it didn't go so well because I only got 46 and that is pretty hopeless compared to what I was getting but I ges it was the first. I got 46 because I wasn't concentrating properly and we had to do the 20 times table. I learned that the 20 is easy if you just 10 times the other number and then double it. What I enjoyed is doing the math I love math!

I enjoyed wrighting about my holiday. I hope you know that is not the only thing I did over the holidays.🙂😃

Leaf Learning Maps

 Hi everyone,
On Wednesday we made these if you look down on my blog you will see my other one called leaf goals. Cass helped me and it was pretty easy and it didn't take long at all. What I enjoyed was working with Cass even tho we mostly do everything together. What I found challenging was drawing the leaf with polyline so Cass did it in the end. What I learned is I am bad at using a polyline.

Stability Test

 Hi everyone,
A couple of days ago we did a stability test and that means we tested our rockets to see if they are stable to do that we well you will find out from this. What I enjoyed was making this. What I found challenging was thincking for words.

Five stars

 Hi everyone,
We are Five Stars and this is our slide it has a record of all our launches and most of the stuff we do. When we have a launch it gets recorded here so we can reflect and find out how we can make our rocket better. What I enjoyed was launching it and getting sprayed in water by the rocket. What I found annoying was a couple of fins came off. What I learned was even if you have a bad start it will get so much better if you have a good attitude.

Rocket Lab Morals

 Hi everyone,
For Ted Lab this week we had to find Morals that rocket lab uses and this is one, Attention to Detail is Vital in Writing Software read it on the photo▲. What I enjoyed was writing about our morals and choosing the background. What I found challenging was choosing good words to say. What I learned was Rocket Lab is epic!

Safety Poster

Hi everyone,
For Ted Lab, we had to make a safety poster so we can all stay safe when launching rockets
Noah and Zion made it but the only reason they got it dun was that we made them be silent and they could only talk to Eilidh about what they were meant to do. What I enjoyed was telling the boys to be quiet. What I found challenging was well nothing because the boys did it. What I learned was a plastic bottle can be dangerous in wase.

Business and ID Cards

 Hi everyone,
a couple of weeks back made business cards and ID cards for Ted Lab and by the way, the top is my id and the bottom is the business card for our group so that's why it has a couple of names on it. What I enjoyed was the Id card. What I struggled with was getting everything the right size so it could be printed. What I learned was BG background remover is a big help.

Making Rockets

Hi everyone,
For Ted Lab this week we are making ROCKETS how awesome is that! Our rocket has 3 fins and a nose cone that come off. We made our rockets out of old 2-liter bottles and the nose cone is attached to the lid and that means when we take off the lid it takes of the nose cone too. What I enjoyed was designing the rockets and using the hot glue guns. What I found challenging was trying not to burn my self with the hot glue. I can't wait to show you our next rocket 😀❤

Hi everyone,
I am trying to get better at my time tables and be more accurate. We do a graph every Monday and Wednesday and today is Wednesday so we did one and I got 54 and on Monday I got 48 so I think I'm getting better. The hardest one is 12x but I will get there. Maths is my favorite subject because it gets my brain thinking. Bye

Injured sister

Hi everyone,
2 days ago my sister holly jumped onto her bed and hurt her shoulder she was very upset because she couldn't do her pullups and her 5/10 k bike ride. Today we went to the physio and holly got acupuncture in her shoulder and it took all the pain away but she nearly fainted and went very pale that because she doesn't do well with needles.

Time to Learn How to Use an Ax

Hi everyone,
Yesterday my dad was teaching me how to use an ax and I was very bad at it. What I enjoyed was being really happy when I hit it on the first try. What I didn't like was not hitting it and failing miserably. What I learned well... I learned how to use an ax.

Letter to Danielle

 Hi everyone,
Today we had to write a letter to the wonder list Ambassador I bet most of you will be thinking what in the world is that and to be honest with you I don't know either. I've never heard of one before this day and I think it is complicated well let's get on with it, shall we? What  I enjoyed was realizing I am very lucky because most of the things I have most other kids don't even get a chance to even talk about them. What I found hard was trying to get it down in time but it turns out I still have a lot of time left. What I learned was that I need to be grateful for what I have and not be whining about what I haven't got. Remember to be grateful.

Don't Forget to Turn

Hi everyone,
Before my pony, Ricky got sold we were practicing barrel racing holly {My sister} videoed it so you guys could see it this is the video here    🖜. What I enjoy was plain riding. What I hated was holly adding silly music. At the start I did not want to post it I was too embarrassed but after a while of sulking in my room, I looked at it and saw that it is quite funny. I hope you like the video thanks bye. P.S my sister did all the editing.

Puppy Jumps

Hi everyone,
I bet your all wondering what this is, well my dog Jake has got so much energy and we need to tier him out so we made him some jumps and my sister made a video of him jumping and playing he is crazy most of the time but is relaxing after a hards day of jumping. He is only 11 months old and still, a puppy so is very excited and playful. Jake is like a little brother to Holly and me the whole family loves him and we think he loves us too.
