On Friday illustrator Bruce Potter came to Makaraka School to talk to the school and he drew a funny animal but we couldn't decide on a name for it I thought it was hilarious it had an elephants head a apes front and a tiger's back.
Hi Libby, I really enjoyed your blog post about Bruce Potter! Having an illustrator come to school is such a special thing! It made me think of the time when I was learning to be a teacher and one of the parents of the children in my class was an illustrator. She would come to school once a week to illustrate a story one of the students had written! My favourite illustration was of a dad hooning away from a raging bull on their farm. He was doing a wheel-stand and the look on his face as he looked over his shoulder at the bull was priceless! I really love your picture here too. Were you motivated to draw it after seeing Bruce Potter's illustrations? I'd love to hear what your illustration is about.
Please structure your comments as follows: Positive - Something done well. Thoughtful - A sentence to let us know you actually read/watched or listened to what they had to say. Helpful - Give some ideas for next time or ask a question you want to know more about.
